St. Joseph School is a private Catholic school north of downtown Knoxville. The school was founded in 1963 and serves students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. St. Joseph is open to students from nine area parishes and other faith traditions, but Catholic students are given priority in the admissions process.
The school is accredited by AdvanceEd and offers a comprehensive education including foreign language, art, music and athletics. There are many opportunities for academic competitions at St. Joseph, as students can participate in the spelling bee, geography bee and science fair. Highly achieving students may be invited to the National Junior Honor Society.
Athletics at St. Joseph are geared more towards older students, though some teams accept students as young as fourth grade. The school offers teams in basketball, cheerleading, tennis, cross-country, flag football, volleyball, track and softball.
In addition to the school-day activities, St. Joseph offers afterschool care until 6 p.m. for an additional fee.

We have had an excellent experience at St. Joseph School which we have attended for 10 years. (PK-8th grade) All the staff has a great attitude and have created a caring family environment. They not only challenge the students but support them ensuring that they learn. They incorporate faith, academic and extracurricular activities learning in a very positive way. The facility is excellent and well maintained. We feel very fortunate to have been part of the St. Joseph School Community.

Our family moved to Knoxville a few years ago Saint Joseph School has surpassed our expectations in almost every area for our kids. All of their teachers have been so committed, passionate about their subject area and very loving and supportive of our kids and their peers. It's a special community school that makes you feel like family right away and their Catholic culture creates an environment and a faith journey that is second to none.

Great small school! A well-educated, caring staff and a supportive parent community. Saint Joseph provides a great foundation in the faith in addition to a solid academic program.
