Webb School of Knoxville started in 1955 with a handful of students in a church basement as part of one family’s vision and commitment to liberal arts education. Founder Bob Webbs' grandfather and uncle had already started private schools in Tennessee and California. The Knoxville school continued to grow over the years, moving campuses, adding grade levels and admitting girls in the late 1960s, before settling at its Cedar Bluff campus. Now serving roughly 1,100 prekindergarten through 12th grade students, the school’s curriculum focuses on developing critical thinking skills and teaches courses in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and composition and literature Students can choose from more than 70 clubs — including apiary club, ukulele club and Girls Who Code — and more than a dozen sports — including football, basketball, lacrosse and wrestling. The athletics department also maintains its own broadcasting network, Webb on the Web, or W.O.W., covering athletics and other school news. Programming is written, edited and produced by Webb students under the guidance of broadcast teachers. With Webb’s artist-in-residence program, numerous interest clubs, top-notch robotics studios, and more than 30 fine arts classes, students can explore their interests and hone their natural talents.

Amazing teachers, amazing food, and decent community. However, very little diversity and an obvious division between students based on class.

One of the best parts of going to a school like Webb is the tight nit community and relationships with teachers. It is a very personalized education and your teachers become true mentors. The relationships you build are for a lifetime. One of the less favorable parts of Webb is the lack of diversity. Although it is an issue that they are working on every year, the lack of there of is apparent.

Transferring to Webb in the 7th grade was one of the best decisions in my (parent's) life. Webb has not only allowed me to flourish academically, but also socially, athletically, and musically. Yes, Webb is an extremely academically tough school. However, speaking as a junior it is definitely worth and what we learn is very rewarding. There is great opportunities at Webb for you to develop your own interests and find your own interest.

Our family has had children enrolled at Webb School of Knoxville for the past 6 years. The academic curriculum is rigorous and the staff is top-notch. The campus is absolutely immaculate and provides a stunning environment for the students. While the tuition seems high, it is in line with many other...

Most of teachers in the school are so great, they are knowledgeable and responsible. But a few of them should be gone, such as a couple of history teachers and math teachers, they don't know what they are teaching, they are lack of knowledge and responsibility. Overall, it is a great school.
