The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

overall, bassett has always been seen as a "terrible school" mainly because of "drugs and violence" in our community and environment. although i can't stress it enough, bassett is a really good school academically and has many great opportunities to grow as a successful student. there are many clubs and sports to choose from as well as to other afterschool activities. the only change i would like from bassett, is the funding towards certain clubs such as band and advanced placement classes. due to the budget cut towards band, us fellow band members aren't able to experience and perform at most of the competitions we would like to. the budget cut also affects us by the staff shortage, which is important because staff by section is needed in order for everyone to get better and grow along with their instrument skills.
