Lake Lure Classical Academy is a public-charter school located in the beautiful town of Lake Lure. In my eleven years at this school, I overall had a good experience with the education provided, students, and staff members. It has its positive aspects and its negative aspects, however, it has done me right in my education.

A friendly school, This is my first month at LLCA and I like the way how people are friendly. The ESL teacher is nice and the middle school kids seem nice, I like the 7th grade Social Studies and Science teachers. The bathrooms are clean, I have a friend (who's a student like me) who says that she loves LLCA and she's been in LLCA for 4 years. The reason why I put "very good" is because some students don't follow the rules and can disturb you. ( but they won't harm/bully you, I just like the school It's nice and seems peaceful ).

Lake Lure Classical Academy is a nice, small school that allows students to stay connected to one another and the teachers. Books and technology are lacking but that does not stop the students from learning. LLCA even offers dual enrollment classes through Isothermal Community College that allows students to get college credit in high school.

This school is extremely fragile. Due to the extreme fragility there are many missed days of school. It rains and the sewer pump goes out, multiple times. The wind blows and heater goes out. Our child is a high achiever and has felt challenged and at home in this school. We have been included as parents and kept informed. This is a secular school not pushing a religion or political party. The kids learn values of citizenship and service to others.

My son started at LLCA in 2015 when we the school was still in trailers but we loved the warm, caring atmosphere of the administrators and teachers. LLCA feels like a K-12 family. I like that my children will be able to be on one campus for the duration of their school experience. They use the Core Knowledge Curriculum for grades K-8, and the high school has a classical curriculum focus and a great relationship with Isothermal Community College...
