Lakewood High School
Lakewood High School’s motto is “Preparing students for success.” It achieves this through a range of athletics, arts and extracurricular opportunities. This is where eighth-grade through 12th-grade students prepare for their future in beautiful Lake Odessa, Michigan.
The high school’s location on Velte Road offers a rural backdrop to the educational environment. Nearby Jordan Lake and Jordan Lake Trail are welcomed outdoor amenities for after-school recreation.
Elementary, middle and high school students from the Lakewood schools come together to produce theatrical performances. Students at the high school can also perform in marching, concert and pep bands. Lakewood Vikings compete in football, soccer, volleyball, track and other sports in the Greater Lansing Activities Conference over three seasons.
The National Honor Society and other groups encourage Lakewood students to give back to the community. Adopt-a-Highway trash pickup, tutoring support and other opportunities promote responsibility and civic-mindedness. The Circle of Excellence honors students who work especially hard and exhibit a positive attitude. From the first moments of meeting teachers and staff to the graduation ceremony, Lakewood High School students can expect a dedicated, reliable support system and welcoming community.

This school is alright if you dont have high expectations for learning. Teachers do a good job at teaching its just the other students are disprespectful and dont allow you to learn in a good enviroment. Id like to see students become more respectful towards the staff. But the competitive cheer team was the best experience ive had throughout my highschool career.

A safe school where the students support activities and come together when we need to. We take pride in our school and the teachers truly care about the students success.

I'm very unpleased with this school. The principal at the middle school is a huge problem out there. Any bullying concerns I've had were not handled well at all. Nothing was ever done to the people bullying my son. It's happened to mant times.
