GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience has been overall pretty positive. The teachers are vary helpful which makes for a good experience, but the food could use improvement. I would like to see the school cafe update it's menu to include healthier, more popular options that students would enjoy eating.

Classes have always been engaging and teachers are almost always present and there for you. I can count only on one hand the amount of times I have had a bad teacher. Courses are diverse and suit anyone with almost any interest or hobby, there are art classes, shop classes, engineering and design classes, baking and meal prep classes, and many more extracurricular courses that students can explore outside of their core classes.

I loved my experience at Hempfield. Teachers were always available to help if students had questions, and schedules allowed for opportunities to ask those questions. As an athlete, I know that all Hempfield student-athletes were treated with care and succeeded quite often.

Initially, I was concerned about the size of the student body with (500-600) students per class. Those fears disappeared when my son navigated the school system with ease. And the great thing about the large population is that it includes kids from all walks of life! High school is as much about soc...

I hated every minute I spent at the high school. However, I had many fantastic teachers that prepared me excellently for college life. The curriculum for the college preparatory, honors, and AP courses are fantastic for preparing students (many of my college classes have been easier repeats of cours...

The best thing about Hempfield is that it offers a wide array of courses at different levels so there is something for everyone. Unfortunately, when it comes to caring about the students, it’s slacking. I’ve seen instances of bullies not being taken care of despite the fact that the school has had a...
