Serving the neighborhoods of Anona and Indian Rocks Beach, Anona Elementary School is a highly rated K-5 school that consistently achieves an “A” rating from the Florida Department of Education, indicating sustained high student performance. Other school accolades include designation as a School of Excellence by the State of Florida. The school also ranks in the top 20% of schools in the state and is a top 10 elementary school in Pinellas County.
Deeply rooted in community history, the school was originally established in 1874, moving to its current location on Indian Rocks Road in 1918. Although the building has changed, the school’s dedication to helping students succeed has not. Recently, Anona Elementary was recognized by the Florida Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support project (FLPBIS) as a Model School. This status recognizes the efforts of the current school administration to enhance student quality of life by implementing the nationally researched Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) framework.
However, it’s not all work and no play. Anona Elementary School offers students opportunities to take part in over a dozen after-school clubs and activities, including a computer club, running club, and a music club. Overall, Anona Elementary provides 400 area students with an opportunity to excel both academically and socially, supported by a qualified team of dedicated teachers and staff.

Community is found at Anona. This school is tradition. Our girls love it there. They learn, both socially and academically, the aspects needed for success.
