HAL is a good school with many academic, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities. While some things about the school could definitely improve, I think Heritage is on the right track and with time it will grow to be an amazing school.

I like the schedule. Most high schools have a 5 day week with around 6-8 classes a day. Heritage only does a 4 day week with 4 periods each day. The A and B day schedule allows us to have a 4 day school week. It's a nice thing to have since I do outside of school activities so the extra day really helps with homework. Something I don't like is the lunch situation. We don't have a cafeteria so we have to eat outside. We don't have nearly enough tables for everyone so people sit everywhere. Some people sit on the floor, on the bleachers, even on a little bench out in the field that's meant for soccer. The only time we can eat inside is when there's an excessive heat warning during the summer. Then they try and cram us all into the gym. We also had a little shady area. This tarp above it provided said shade. However, after some heavy rainfall the tarp fell. This happened in like October and they still haven't put it back up even after they said they would.

I haven't been teaching here long, but my experience so far has been very positive. The administration cares about the students and the teachers alike and they make that apparent. They encourage families to be involved in their children's learning and extra-curriculars. Teachers are supported and tr...

Nothing is organized. Certain kids are favored (if you are part of the LDS community). There is no sense of urgency. The ONLY thing that keeps our child at this school is the OUTSTANDING dance program. Otherwise, the teachers do not have the skills to teach, or challenge the kids. Only conservative...
