GreatSchools Rating

Source: GreatSchools
GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Nepotism at it best and they do not try to hide it. If you don't like it here, oh well. Military families should not be forced to go to a school that is not supported by the local community.

The teacher are nice and the students are as well. We do a lot of activities for sports and homecoming.

All my teachers were really good but I felt a bit behind. I moved to Louisiana from Mississippi and the curriculums are very different. The curriculum at pickering seemed little behind to me which is while I switched to all AP classes and Dual Enrollment.

Overall this school needs to be shut down. Nothing is up to date. They have no money to do anything. Their disciplinary acts are ridiculous. Mind you, the state of Louisiana has the worst educational system in the U.S. Please, save your time and do not set foot in Pickering High school. The teachers...

Just be involved if ur military or the staff will shut out ur child. Local kids bullying military children is an excepted event at pickering.
