GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

the students there only care about themselves and the administration is worried about the wrong things at the wrong times.

I loved the academic rigor of Southwest and the teachers and staff who constantly pushed me. I would change the emphasis on getting involved in everything because it causes burnout.

I liked the option to do a bunch of different class types. I also enjoyed the ability to take AP classess to limit the amount of workload I will have in college. The teachers were really nice and great at teaching. One of my bigger gripes is the administration and their handling of certain things. It seems clumsy and badly put together at some times and downright ill-advised in some situations. Overall, great school with a couple of quirks but nothing that would stop me from recommending it.

My kids have had a great experience at Southwest. The block schedule moves through the material more quickly, but students then have only 4 classes at a time to keep track of. There is pretty even focus between the arts and athletics. The administrators are approachable and expect the best out of ea...

Southwest is a very well built school. All of the staff really cares about every single student that attends Southwest each and everyday. Southwest has a big virility of sports, clubs, and activities to get involved in. Along with only having four classes a day is amazing.GO SOUTHWEST SILVER HAWKS!!

This school is amazing! The school leadership and staff are skilled, caring, and dedicated to each and every student! I’m not certain why Southwest is only rated 3 out 10- each year Southwest students:- graduate at an approx. 92-93% rate.- outscore peers at the local, state, and national levels in B...
