Home of the Jaguars, Sharon Elementary School is a fun place to learn and grow. With a diverse student body of over 700 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, Sharon helps children develop academically and socially. The school’s Jaguar Pride program instills behavioral principles that help maximize learning and minimize problems in the school, encouraging every Jaguar to ROAR—be Respectful, Organized, Always safe and Responsible. Sharon Elementary ranks in the top 20% of Georgia elementary schools in overall test scores and the school’s math, reading and language arts scores are well above the state average.
Beyond academic subjects, Sharon Elementary students take art, music and physical education classes. A STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) lab at the school gives students a place to design and create projects that help them solve problems and think creatively, using principles from a variety of subjects in hands-on learning. Kids can also explore interests in a variety of clubs at the school. Budding chefs can join the cooking club while aspiring journalists can be a part of the school’s morning news show, and athletically inclined kids can join the archery team or running club. I love how small and intimate the school is. The staff knows the parents my face and most often by name. Lots of opportunities to volunteer with your child. My daughter is excelling, and the teachers are all very responsive and communicative. You can tell they really care about what they do.
