Established in 1922, Fletcher Drive Elementary is a unique public school in the Los Angeles Unified School District blending a traditional education and magnet program all under the same roof. Located at 3350 Fletcher Drive in Los Angeles, Fletcher Drive Elementary enrolls approximately 199 students and serves transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. Home of the Dragons, the school unfolds a dual curriculum offering one half of the day in a traditional education environment focused upon core classes in reading, social studies and physical education. The second half of the day, the school unfolds the Fletcher STEAM Magnet Elementary with an emphasis of core studies in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. The school’s mission is to empower each student by creating a motivated learning environment focusing on problem solving through science, technology, engineering and math. Fletcher Drive Elementary offers the LA’s Best Program which provides students with a free daily meal, enrichment activities, academic support and music. Each year the school features a Christmas program and an annual spring fair. In addition, the school sponsors an annual science fair and fun festival where students get an amazing opportunity to throw a pie at their favorite teacher’s face or dunk the principal in a water tank.

School has taking all measures necessary to make the school safe for the kids during COVID. All the teachers my kids have gotten have nothing but helpful and supportive and dedicated to the children.

When I decided to move to Los Angeles, I was searching for schools around my neighborhood and Fletcher came out as my home school. I was not happy because the school rated two of 10, which it was low. I wanted my son who had an IEP to attend to a different school but long story short I end up enroll...
