GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Dorsey high school has been overall good. I feel being here has enabled me to want to be my best self, and to utilize all the resources they have to offer. Because of that I've been able to expand both my knowledge on differing pathways beyond high school and on the different interests I have. I've been able to learn more about myself most importantly; allowing me to focus on strengthening what I am good at and bettering things I need to work on.

It was a splendid experience between 1985 when my school won the California Academic Decathlon. Conversely, it was in the middle of gang wars in Los Angeles.

The best parts of high school for me was playing basketball but that was also the worst part. It's hard to enjoy something that only last a couple years when your focusing so much on the negative. So I then started to focus on my academics and that made me like school a lot more. Being good at something other than sports and being recognized by it was an amazing feeling and I do appreciate dorsey for that.

Dorsey has the potential to be an excellent school but student numbers are way down and the District builds a new gym and is remodeling the old gym while textbooks are so old Obama isn't in the history books and computers in classrooms.are obsolete and few and far between. The students would be bett...
