Yeshiva University Of Los Angeles Boys High School is affiliated with Yeshiva University of Los Angeles Girls School, which is located just over a mile away. Yeshiva University of Los Angeles Boys School was founded in 1979 by Rabbi Marvin Hier. A strong leader in the community, Rabbi Marvin Hier is also the founder of the the Simon Wiesenthal Center as well as an Oscar Winner. YULA is now headed by Rabbi Arye Sufrin. YULA is a private Yeshiva School, meaning it specializes in Orthodox Judaic studies while also teaching academics. YULA is a Modern Orthodox Jewish school, proudly preparing its students to be part of the modern Jewish community through both religious and academic curriculum. One of YULA’s most important and long standing values is community. YULA promises a lifelong sense of belonging for its modern Orthodox Jewish Students with career advisement, help with graduate school, and a tight-knit alumni network.

Meh. Really not a lot of focus on the arts or humanities so I had to do a lot of that sort of stuff independently (they don't have serious newspaper, they don't have any music class, they have no creative writing help). But I do have some great teachers so it's not terrible. Also, if you're coming from public school

The all girls experience allowed me to learn in an environment where I didn't have to care about being cool or looking cool, which truly allowed me to study. In addition, the Jewish curriculum helped me grow and fostered my love of religion.

Yula is the best high school of LA. I put my daughter in Rabbi Burstyn's school for 9th grade, and she said it was okay. Us, as a religious family liked it too. However Bais Yaacov high school for girls taught more Hebrew studies than General studies, which is good if your daughter would like to be...
