GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

At Mckinney High school, you are part of a group. Whether you are in all the activities they offer or none, you are part of something. In my experience, I have had an overall good time, there have been some poor parts but no school is perfect. At my school I have made some memorable times yet I have also had some portions that I wish I could forget. Personally I would like to see more organized functions but this school has shown me many new life experiences and chances for my future.

My experience with Mckinney High school so far is amazing. The best parts about Mckinney High School is how they allow us to express ourself and how many clubs there is to join. I also enjoy the delicious food, the cookers serve us and I enjoy when they make a little small talk with me because my lunch is split. I have 30 minutes in algebra then i go to lunch for 30 minutes then comeback to algebra and do 30 minutes. I enjoy our ap's that take care of any situation and our counselors that make every student feel supportive and joyful. My worst parts with my high school is passing period, I don't hate it, but I don't love it I just wished we had longer time to go to our classes even though I am grateful we get five minutes which it still is plenty of time. What I like to see change in my high school is more elevators because the stairs make, but I don't and probably will never take the elevator because their for people who actually need it.

My third daughter is there now, the other two are Texas A&M students. Great experience in mostly advanced classes(AP, dual, pre AP), great teachers, and spirit is high there whether they are higher education focused students or not.

The new principal and her new rules are making the kids lives awful. I would not recommend this school at all. Go to Boyd or North, but not here. My kids have 1 yr and 2 yrs left. Mainly my daughter is the one we are concerned about, but luckily after this year she goes to college and then we are mo...

not a good environment for anyone's mental health, whether it be teachers or students. the treatment that I have received from many teachers, other staff, and a multitude of students has caused me to consider alternative options to being alive. Not only am I treated this way, but many other students...
