ASU Preparatory Academy-Polytechnic Elementary is a tuition-free public charter school located in Mesa, Arizona. The school is comprised of around 500 students attending kindergarten through fourth grade. The Academy first opened in 2008 on the ASU Polytechnic college campus. Students attending the elementary school are exposed at an early stage to a STEM-based curriculum. Similar to the older students attending the middle school and high school, the elementary school makes group work a focal point in their curriculum. The students spend time at the end of each day working on a project in teams. The Elementary school also focuses largely on problem-solving and critical thinking. Students are given real-world problems and are asked to explore what they believe the solutions could be. They are encouraged to think creatively while trying to understand the issues at hand. The school believes that exposure to these skills early in childhood will help develop a strong group of scholars in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

My son wakes up excited to come to school each day. Over the summer, he misses his school and friends. This is his 4th year as a Sun Devil and we are very happy with how much he has achieved. We are happy with his state test scores and the growth he has made at this school. The teachers, staff, and administration are always pleasant and communicative. ASU feels like our family!!

The school is tiny and there are too many students for the size of the campus. Clubs and sports are practically nonexistent. The cafeteria is a tiny room and the school lunches catered in are not appetizing. Administration does not support the staff and because it's a charter school you have teacher...

There isn’t a gym at this school. The kids have PE in a classroom with an open wall into the STEM class. It’s so chaotic. The younger grades are connected too. No one can learn in such a loud environment. There isn’t a cafeteria either. My older kids eat lunch in the hallway. The poor teachers have...

Don’t send your child here if they have a disability of any kind. Your child will become their study project instead of being treated like a human. Worse, if your child is bullied, they will tell you that your child is solely to blame for any response and is seeing the situation through the lens of...

Even title 1 schools have a real music class and technology class. This joke of a music class has the poor kids banging on food cans, buckets and xylophones!!! You may be thinking they are preschoolers but nope, this nonsense is taught up to 6th grade!!! Until the upper class, where they DON’T even...
