Alberta Smith Elementary opened its doors in September of 1994. The school is named for an esteemed educator, Alberta F. Smith, who taught in Chesterfield County schools for 44 years and held a role as principle for 36 of those years. This was my daughters first year at Smith. She had a wonderful experience! I felt involved and I knew what was going on because of the monthly emails. I moved out here from up north and I must say I am NOT happy with this school. In a matter of months, the school went from an 8 score to a 6! Very disappointing.
