My experience at Highland East Junior High School was overall not too terrible. I was well connected with my friends that I had made which made the experience bearable. The faculty at that school were not bad. Of course I had my favorites which was my English teacher in 8th grade and my Math teacher in 7th grade. One thing that most definitely needs to change at that school is a particular gym teacher that is currently still working at the school. This particular teacher was one that was feared by most students at the school due to her extremely terrifying actions taken upon students when singling students out in front of the entire class and bullying these students. I'm currently a sophomore in college and I am still hearing about this teacher and her strange ways to intimidate students at that school

This school is great for everything but learning. There are always kids in the classrooms with their phones out in plain sight, despite the alleged increase in strictness of this rule. My son comes home with stories of students fighting and bullying children daily. He says the teachers are rarely around when the fights occur. It seems that the administration is overwhelmed with the issues in the school. I would transfer my son if I had a better option.
