GreatSchools Rating

Source: GreatSchools
GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It would be better if some of the staff were nicer to the students when they asked questions and not with a tone that sounded like they were talking down to the student. A lot of the staff were nice but there was a few who would sound like this.

The state of Washington requires you have a high school and beyond plan before you graduate. That's a great idea but at my school, we have a class called homeroom where you just sit there and work on how to be successful after high school if you don't have a plan. The only problem is everyone who already has a plan and has it figured out has to go over the same bs that we've already done in preparation for college or trade school. So I'd create a new class for the students that already have a plan so the counselors can help them out further.

Most of the teachers are really great, however due to the insane amount of kids packed into every space available, everyone is overwhelmed. The school board has no desire to build the second high school that voters approved bond funding for by a super majority in 2017. I'm praying that we can move t...

In all honesty, it can sometimes be a fun place, but formally, it's an absolute disaster. The fact there are police cars outside every single day, too many students and stuffy halls, students always cutting class and drug abuse happening at the school itself, it clearly doesn't sound like paradise....
