GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Mount Vernon high school I think is just like any other high school. Most of the teacher were very knowledgeable in their class and about their studies. The teachers were also super helpful and very understanding when needed.

Mt Vernon is a very familial school. The teachers know you personally and the small class sizes provide many opportunities for one-on-one guidance. However, fewer students also means fewer classes so you won't find particularly diverse or many upper level, AP classes. Club involvement is about average with the exception of an incredibly active and successful FFA chapter.

My favorite thing about Mount Vernon High School is the people. The students are supportive of eachother and the teachers create a living environment. If I could change one thing about my school I would hope that more students would get more involved. I would love to see more involvement in clubs and school events.

Horrible high school went here my sophomore year. Only had a couple good teachers, extremely cliquish, especially the Ag department. Most teachers pick favorite, and the students are extremely rude. Do not send your kid here.

Only two AP courses were offered when I attended (graduated 2017), while there are some dual credit courses offered. If your child is average then Mt...
