GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The community connection is high, and the low student teacher ratio is nice for one-on-one learning. Some nearby towns are kind of dangerous, but there is also much to learn from those experiences.

I entered South Umpqua in the midst of a pandemic. The school although having quarentine to prepare did nothing. I want to see South Umpqua get better support and a better administration from the town. This is the only high school for miles and two different middle schools go here. I want to see South Umpqua become a better school for everyone. But I do really enjoy how much effort so many teachers at this school put into their kids.

South Umpqua is where I went to the State championship in football. The school has helped me grow into a person where I am wanting to do great things and succeed in life.

N-n-n-n-n-no. This is one of thee poorest schools, and I do not mean simply in fiscal terms. This is a place where students are teaching themselves, and if they don't have some sort of moral dogma, then they are at a total loss. This ends in students relying on bullying, harassment, stupid decisions...
