I'm a parent of two current NCHS students. The academics are as rigorous as a private school, and the extracurriculars - in particular sports and theatre - are top notch. Teachers are attentive, and the guidance counselors are responsive. The reputation the school has for academics is a useful one with colleges. My one watch out is the lack of diversity which is really more of a town issue. Coming from NYC this is definitely missed, especially with regard to underrepresented groups.

The school keeps students very engaged, promoting many extracurriculars, and even providing students with the resources to create their own. I found it very easy to adjust to this high school, as each teacher works to create a well-rounded student, not only in terms of grades, but also in ethics and general habits of success.

Personally, growing up in New Canaan and going to the New Canaan High school is an experience I will never forget. The atmosphere, the people, the area is just amazing. I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. Again, there's nothing I would want to change about the New Canaan high school since there are 5 stars all around.
