The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

Mascenic was not an all around bad experience, but overall if you want your child to have a shot at any competitive colleges even if they are at the top of their Mascenic class and seek out extracurriculars online&at other schools, they still will not compare with seniors from surrounding schools. (Speaking from experience) This basically comes down to lack of extracurriculars/clubs/AP classes offered to build up a resume, and lack of good teachers (a few exceptions of course) because the promising new ones cross the mass border after getting experience to actually get paid a fair amount.

A good learning environment where students can thrive given the chance. The staff is great and works well when students need help. The class sizes are small which allows students to get to know their peers well which creates a good setting in the classrooms.

The teacher turnover and teachers without teaching certificates is of concern.
Public schools introduce our kids to a lot of evil that’s in this world. It’s sad to see how children are trying to change who they are at such a young age. I believe that all public schools need to improve in the morals that they are following. For they are teaching up the future generations
The school board continuously proposed a budget that is two-thirds of what surrounding schools allow per student. Teachers often leave for positions in other towns with a substantial raise. Parenting is lacking for many students. Children are not taught discipline, respect, or hard work at home. The...
Disclipline is a joke at this school, the administration, in particular the vice principal, would rather be "friends" with the kids and give them lollipops instead of giving out much needed punishment. Students constantly wander the halls and are disrespectful to teachers with no support. Some teach...
They do not provide any support for disabled students. Students are grossly unprepared for any post secondary education. The focus is on students who plan to go learn a trade in the family business.
