GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The teachers, especially those who teach honors or AP classes, truly dedicate themselves to their students and will assist them to the best of their ability to achieve success. They want to know you and how they can help you grow. The classes can be challenging, but it is easy to reach out for help. Due to the lack of diversity, however, it is not a rare occurrence to hear about racism, transphobia, ableism, and homophobia among the student body. I would like to see more of these issues address by the school.

The best part of my high school experience has been the people i've been able to connect with in sports. By playing tennis my freshman year i've made lifelong friends and amazing role models through the coaches. My worst experience has been within how the freshman and jv sports teams get little to no special treatment at all and are cared for as not real sports. My freshman year softball field had no fence so we could allow the football team to use it for extra practice space. I would love to see change at my school and be able to make the teams all equal.

My experience at lincoln-way central has been an overall positive one. It is obvious that the faculty genuinely cares about the students and their academic performance. I have had many teachers push me to my very best, even when I thought I would not be able to reach that point. The atmosphere at my school is amazing; the school spirit is absolutely unmatched. I have had the best experience at my high school—both socially and academically.

The teachers and counselors really care about the kids at Central. They have gone out of their way to help my son succeed and realize his potential. He started to struggle a bit last quarter and his teachers were quick to offer extra help and also point the resources available at Central where he ca...

My son is a sophomore at LWC. The school is performing above state levels; however, they did not make adequate yearly progress. The curriculum program is well organized and they have a great sports program. Unfortunately, the school is behind with technology. Walk into a classroom and you will see a...

Amazing high school. As an alumni, I can say that LWC prepared me to be a well-educated and well-rounded person even more than my college did. The only complaint is that it was not terribly diverse, but that's not a fault of the school's. Fantastic teachers, classes, extra-curriculars, and facilitie...
