The best part of my experience have been the students, the worst part has been the way threats of violence have been addressed, and I would like to see that change for the better.

After 4 years of attending the Beacon School, I was able to express my artistic practices in my senior year despite this school not being Arts focused but rather more academic focused around liberal arts.

My daughter had a rough time in 11th grade which is an extremely important year. She was cutting class and missing important tests. I didn't find out till her math teacher emailed me. Beacon has free periods throughout the day and students basically do whatever they want and teachers and administrators don't ask the students where they are supposed to be. This school failed her in the most important year. Now as a senior and applying to college she got rejected from all of the schools she wanted to go to. I don't recommend this school for kids that need a somewhat strict environment to thrive in.

Beacon does not take the regents, therefore our test scores on this website (3/10) are completely inaccurate. We reach finals for the PSAT every year, and do great on the SAT/ACT. This is not a test-taking school; we focus on writing skills and how to be a better student overall. This is a wonderful...

As a parent of a Special Education student i would not recommend this school. One of the reasons we chose Beacon is their false claims of being supportive and providing necessary supports and resources. Unfortunately, the school has not adhered to the IEP, services or accomodations. The school has n...

Extremely liberal school that makes traditional students afraid to speak openly, and in fact, go to great lengths to hide their opinion. Sadly, most schools today are like that.
