The Geneva School of Manhattan (Geneva School) describes itself as “the only classical Christian school in New York City.” With approximately 325 students spread over pre-kindergarten to 10th grade, with plans to serve through 12th grade, the school enjoys a student-teacher ratio of less than 10-to-1.
Sited next to a public playground and within easy reach of the multiple recreational opportunities of Central Park, Geneva School can offer its younger students many opportunities for outside activities. Bible study and familiarity with Christian history is emphasized in every grade.
Upper School students move on to a college preparatory path, with math classes in algebra, geometry, precalculus, and trigonometry, plus science lessons in biology, chemistry, and physics. Upper School students also revisit historical periods covered in Lower School, but with deeper content, studying the works of authors such as Homer, Hesiod, Aristotle, Plato, Dante, and Shakespeare.
Geneva School offers a range of extracurricular programs in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) as well as art, ballet, chess, musical theater, robotics, student council and yearbook. The Geneva Knights field sports teams in soccer, cross-country, basketball, and volleyball, while a full music program is offered through the onsite, affiliated Geneva Conservatory of Music.
