GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It's great if you're looking for academics with no distractions academically. As for the worst parts of the school, I would say I wish it were bigger so that more people could attend this school and also so that there would be room for more sports.

The best part of PSA is the freedom and creativity that is fostered by the culture and teachers. Several teachers also struggle with the same neurodivergence the students struggle with allowing them to understand and teach them as needed. The struggle is some organization of the school could use work, and that previous years in the school have allowed for issues to grow.

I have been at Palmetto Scholars Academy since 6th grade and I'm currently in 11th grade. This school has practically raised me and prepared me for college and careers.

My child had a horrible experience there - they claim to be a school for gifted kids, but yet don't know how to differentiate and provide higher level instruction when necessary. The administration there is awful; the most recent principal didn't even last 1 school year, and the assistant principal...

This school sucks. Sure, the people are great and LEAP days are fun, but the teachers and administration are horrible. - A student that actually attends here.

Being the only Gifted and Talented school in the area, your options are limited, but Palmetto Scholars Academy lives up to the standard. With a small school size and teachers who are not only experts in their field, but have been with the school for years, it is no wonder they win so many STEM award...

PSA is top-ranked charter school that was established specifically to address the needs of gifted and talented teenagers. It has developed a curriculum and culture that borrows from best practices, research, and results from around the world. The curriculum is not easy but it is interesting and fun....
