GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Westside Highschool is very good as I have met a lot of my friends there. The teachers are also very good and have helped me tremendously by teaching me lessons inside of class, but also being a person I can rely on if something ever happened in my personal life. The staff accommodates very well to students and their needs, and has the student body in mind when they make decisions.

The parents of students run the school as if it is an elitist organization only granting access to children of previous alumni. It creates a negative environment where making friends with everyone is very difficult unless your parents are friends to some extent. The academics are also not laid out super clear for high achieving students in addition to the special education services being sub-par. Also if students don't care the administration will not care and let them "slip through the cracks" only pushing them through graduation rather than actually helping them and addressing a problem.

Easily the best part about Westside is how unique it is. The modular scheduling we have is like no other in the state. The benefits it provides are endless. As a student I feel that I have a lot of freedom though out my school day with the ability to leave campus when I do not have class. Another huge benefit of open mods are the many opportunities to seek help from teachers and other students when needed. Another great thing about Westside is the community. Almost all of my friends and their families are proud to be a part of Westside. Many of my classmates are second or even third generation Westside students. There is a culture here that can make anybody feel at home.

Love the Westside school district. Teachers and administration is excellent. They are better funded than OPS and have high standards for the children & parents. If your child isn't academically inclined or you have no interest in having an active roll in your child's education, go somewhere else. If...

Both my daughters are excelling, as long as they do not get behind and put in the hours. I am proud to say where they go to school to my co-workers. Mike

Westside does a good job of elevating hard working children and teenagers, and prepares them to excel at the next level. It provides excellent opportunities for those who are willing to take advantage of the opportunities
