GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at New Town High School has been satisfactory. There are minor issues such as expense and budgeting as well as the overall cleanliness of the school. The best part of New Town High School is the fact that it is an International Baccalaureate School. New Town offers a Diploma program and a Career program which both will set students up with college level courses in which they will receive college credits at the end of the course if the exams given at the end of their senior year are passed.

I've been a student at New Town High School since my Freshman year. From then and up until now, I've made friendships with good quality teachers and students. The schools passion is there but in the wrong areas. The counselors mess up hundreds of students schedules every year and sometimes don't fix them. That caused me to have a horrible junior year because I was a victim of those mistakes. Overall, I would rate my school a 5/10 with the experiences I've had.

So first I would like to say I think the school should have did a better job preparing their students for their future in a sense like college readinesses. As a rising senior I feel so lost and behind because I feel as though I had no proper guidance in how I should be preparing for college. And ofc i understand the school is big with a lot of kids but i think an attempt could have been made like maybe incorporating a semester dedicated to prepare juniors for the college process in their senior year. Besides that another issue is there was no teacher and most classes had permanent substitute like my 9th grade year I had no math teacher I didn't learn anything and my 10th grade year I didn't have an English teacher the whole school year so imagine me coming from Covid with barely any knowledge then having no math and English teacher that's not good. And also when it came to sats there wasn't good enough preparation to help us study and get good scores it could be way better helping

This school is straight up garbage, wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. First of all the teachers don’t care or listen to the students whatsoever, this is one of the reasons why the students don’t respect the teachers. There are a lot of fights and you got people who wanna act tough and stuff, but in...
