In the heart of Strickland, set amidst lush strawberry fields, Linda Vista Adventist Elementary School has been providing a faith-based education to Oxnard-area residents since 1963. The private day school serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade and is known for its development of Christian leaders. Linda Vista is “more than a school. It is a community and a place for your child to belong as he or she grows into wisdom, stature, and in favor of God and man.” With a student body of 71, Linda Vista Adventist is small enough to provide a nurturing experience for students but still offers innovative programs like a 50/50 Spanish immersion kindergarten program, a middle school science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics lab, kindergarten through eighth grade performing arts and an award-winning robotics club. Students who enroll in the immersion kindergarten program receive core instruction in English in the morning. Following Linda Vista’s focus on hands-on education, the school provides a personal plot for each student to plant his or her own garden!
