The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My teachers were the best part of my schooling, all of them support me and all my goals. Sadly, there's not the best academics for advanced learning, but the teachers always made sure the students had the support they needed to succeed.

Such a small school, yet look at our proficiency scores. Students & staff are not motivated. Glad that I moved on to a better school.

I attended HAAS for five years and would not have rather gone to any other school. The school itself is small, making it so that each of the students become well acquainted with one another and their teachers. When the time came for me to graduate it really did feel like I had cultivated an extra little family. The only bad thing I have to say about HAAS is its lack of sports and clubs. I would have loved to participate in more sports throughout high school, but my only option to do that was join a different high school's sports team.
My kids are only at HAAS, because Pahoa Jr/High school is awful. This school does not bring feelings of warmth or welcoming. The faculty is decrepit and depressing. The staff are bitter and cynical. The grounds and maintenance workers will mean mug you. I don’t feel like my children are any smarter...

My son started here when it was fairly new. In the four years he attend until his graduation it grew substantially. Although it has been a few years since his graduation, and I no longer live in Hawaii to see what the school has become, I can say it was a once in a life time experience for him. My s...
