GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

One great experience at Sam Rayburn High School was the Early College program. This program allows you to graduate with an Associate degree from San Jacinto College Central. One bad experience I had at this High School was my Junior year, it was more personal where I just had so much distraction and my grades went down but there was not a bad experiment part from the school.

Little effort is put into curriculum, especially in on-level courses where students are rarely challenged. Teachers and students often complain about administration.

My experience in Sam Rayburn High School has been great due to the Early College program. I am currently in that program and believe it is a great opportunity to get a free associates degree. The teacher in that program and very supportive and amazing teachers that you can depend and rely on.

Focus on state tests without providing the time to prepare in the classroom. Good school for social emotional support for students. Too much focus on “passing,” rather than learning. Too much focus on dress code, rather than chronic absenteeism. And if you’re a teacher, you will not believe the less...

Speech classes here and JROTC teach you to be a leader and independent. There are so many academic opportunities and activities.
