GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Other than my friends, the teachers were probably the best part of my entire high school experience (the ones I got anyway). They were pretty casual and / or wise -- if I didn't learn much about the subjects they were teaching, I definitely learned a thing or two about life in general from them. I think the worst parts of Escambia come from the near-monthly student fighting and rampant drug problem. I definitely think faculty could've cracked down a little harder on all this, but I'm sure they did the best they could do.

One issue Escambia High School has is their dress code. I might not agree with most dress codes in schools but i can understand them. I think banning tank tops specifically is ridiculous and potentially dangerous. It's Florida and the air conditioning at the school sometimes works and sometimes doesn't work. I personally have health related issues in high temperature heat as well as others. There's been times where i was worried that i'd be ill or pass out cause it was so hot and they made me change out of my tank top and into a bigger hotter shirt. If they wanna enforce it they could at the very least provide us some air conditioning so we aren't miserable. They also take out of our learning time to make us change. I will say the teachers are pretty good and create a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment. It's mainly other staff that will stop us and give us a hard time about our clothes.

Honestly, It is a very well rounded school. I don't have much to say against the school other than maybe some of the management/administration could use some work. Overall I have been given a lot of good opportunities and it is a fairly safe environment to be in, from my experiences.

Very dangerous school for kids. Incompetent administration. School employee recently arrested for TRAFFICKING FENTANYL. Students don't feel safe at this school. Stay far away.

Escambia High School is like most public high schools, the amount of effort the students and their familes put into their education and overall experience makes all the difference. The county has "school choice" which provides opportunities for kids from underpriveledged neighborhoods, but the schoo...

My daughter attended Escambia and had a wonderful experience. She was involved in sports, band, and advanced academic classes. The teachers were interested and engaged, the students were encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities, and the administration is/was second to none. No school...
