GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience while attending First Philadelphia was great. The teachers are hands on and are always understanding. The school itself is college readiness. They would have colleges come visit and look at your application and accept you to college on the spot.

My experience in First Philadelphia has been good. I have made lots of friends and have good teachers. I strongly believe that more teachers are needed in order to have a better education experience. Also, they should be more involve with preparing juniors and seniors for college or trade school.

I've been attending this school since kindergarten. At first it was nice, calm and the education was good. Then as our school got older they started allowing kids from bad schools in. This corrupted our learning and behavior system. Now we barely have teachers coming into school and the school focuses more on if you have a hoodie on rather than if you're learning the right material.

Another student cut my child’s arm with a weapon and I was told “girls will be girls” by the assistant principal at the time. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN IN 3RD GRADE! I was then told to quit my job to homeschool my child if I am that worried LOL. My daughter had to say she was scared in order for me eve...

Horrible! My kids are traumatized by the violence inside this building. Both my kids lasted 6 months and I had to sign papers to get them out to save them. Be ready to receive calls for the nurse because of beating and black eye. And if the beating is in the stomach and not noticeable they wont call...
