On a sprawling campus in the heart of the Biltmore neighborhood, Camelback High is a public school serving more than 2,100 students in ninth through twelfth grades as part of the Phoenix Union School District. In addition to a core curriculum, the school offers Advanced Placement classes and performing arts as well as career and technical education courses for college credit in accounting, business, hospitality management, culinary arts, education, or engineering. In addition, Camelback High hosts one of the only Montessori college prep programs in the state of Arizona. As far as extracurriculars, students can dedicate themselves to service in JROTC, National Honor Society, and student government, or pursue their passions in Academic Decathlon, band, choir, dance, newspaper, yearbook, or e-sports, among many others. To rev up team spirit, Camelback High also has a robust athletics program outfitted with a football stadium, four ball fields, and more than a dozen courts on campus. Aspiring Camelback Spartans can compete in swimming, cross country, wrestling, golf, tennis, and track and field, or further build camaraderie in basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, softball and, of course, football. In and out of the classroom, Camelback High inspires students to be active and engaged every day.

I had a lot of opportunities and flexibility within the Montessori program at Camelback high school. They gave us a lot of connections and prepared us for college. We also took a lot more field trips compared to the other students. There were also a lot of community building activities like potlucks and small parties during advisory. I don't have anything negative to say about my high school experience except maybe the food. Improving the food would be better considering a lot of kids only eat at school.

The teachers are all nice people. They all want to get you into college if that's what you want for your future. They help you even if sometimes you don't want the help they are always there.

It was a great school not too bad for a typical high school. I would recommend students to go to this school.

I am a recent graduate class of 2024 this school is the best high school (in my opinion) because it not only enabled me to succeed in college but the school offers so many good programs. I did the cosmetology program and after graduated and got my cosmetology license. Now I work at a salon and I did...

Simply put, it doesn't deserve a 4/10. It is by far better choice for public schools in Phoenix Union. Especially given it's dichotomies. To the East there's the Biltmore. To the West there's the Los Olivos neighborhood. Upper and Lower Middle class, for a school catering an area mostly of lower inc...
