The school is AdvancED accredited and follows standards for public schools set by the Arizona Department of Education. The more athletic set can build team spirit as South Point Griffins in a number of school sports, including baseball, cross country, dance team football, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, girls’ volleyball, cheer team, dance team, and track and field. As for other notable programs, South Pointe offers an English Language Learners (ELL) program, special education services, and a free breakfast and lunch program.

South Pointe is a great school for kids who got expelled/ suspended, behind on credits, or looking for a fresh start. It may be a small school but there way of learning is much bigger. Kids succeed better there than any other school I can think of. My experience has been great, I've gotten my grades up I've seven involved in multiple clubs and sports. One of the worst parts I can possibly think of may be the food or the no phone policy, it can be hard at times but it does help us learn better. And to add on we have a loving and devoted principal, he has been dedicated to our school and education for over 20 years.

The administration is amazing, the staff helped me in ever way they could. They know the every day struggles of a teen in south phoenix and they make it known. They are such humble people with huge hearts and they make sure no student is ever left behind. The teachers make sure to build a bond with all of their students and not only that but even go the extra mile to form actual personal friendships with us all. Bullying is definitely out of question due to the fact that the the staff tries their hardest to include us all in every activity.
