GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Plattsburg high school is small in numbers so it helps you make more connections and you get more one on one help from teachers and other staff.

The teachers at Plattsburg High School are some of the most caring individuals I have ever met. Due to the small size of the school, you get the opportunity to connect with the staff and get personal mentoring. But, there are also less educational opportunities, like a wide selection of classes or clubs. I took the opportunity to get involved in almost every club and sport available to me, and I learned many things. I look forward to one last year here

I loved the small size of the school. I enjoy knowing everyone that I go to school with, and I believe because it is a small school, there is a better learning environment. I know my teachers well and feel completely comfortable asking them any questions I have. If I could do it all again, I definitely would.

I was a student at this school my whole life. I have seen many teachers, principals and superintendents. Things were always about sports to every faculty member. If you were not in sports, you didn't deserve being praised or encouraged. Things were looking up when I graduated and I had hopes for Pla...

Terrible leadership. There is no follow through and they pick and choose who they discipline and who they don't. I feel my children will not be prepared for college. Most teachers teach 15 minutes and then kids are on their phones 45 minutes. Kids run the show here.

My daughter graduated from Plattsburg high school with 27 college credits. The school partners well with local colleges to make these available and affordable. The textbooks for the college courses were even free.

My family moved to Plattsburg from Overland Park KS (Shawnee Mission) almost 3 years ago. I have 2 in elementary and 1 in middle school. I have liked the administrators and teachers and so have my children. There is some teacher turnover as small town schools close to the city seem to be a jumping o...
