GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The college and career readiness of Southeast Polk High School is impressive and has made me feel more confident in my future education. There is also a wide range of courses that students can take and diversely choose their path in. However, it is slightly overcrowded and has a slight surplus of students and teachers only have the basic resources for their classes.

I would like to see a more diverse culture within the high school. As well as more funding for the fine arts programs. I do enjoy that we are doing a block schedule now to better prepare students for college life. However I do not like standards based grading. For example kids who don't do any homework can still get A's and the fact that I can't get a (4) 100% unless I know stuff that I have never been taught about does not make any sense.

Fully disappointed in what is being taught (and not taught) at Southeast Polk. Our oldest just graduated from this place and we've decided to pull our other 3 children out to provide a faith based education. I refuse to allow the beliefs of a Godless world to snuff out the biblical compass that we have instilled in our children.

Poor communication. The counselors we have been assigned unwilling to help resolve issues when they arise causing my students to miss important opportunities. My 4.2 GPA student was unable to apply for National Honor Society or test for National Merit Scholarship because we were not notify of these...
