HHS has managed to be a solid high school pick, assuming you don't mind a constantly rotating staff and painfully small lunch portions. These issues ultimately come down to budget problems, due to increased cost of operations. Many teachers are leaving due to this.

I think that many of the teachers here really care about your education, and helping you learn, but others don't. Some teachers only care about the sports they coach, and they do not even try to teach you. They just hand out worksheets and tests. Also, the school building itself is worn down, and the bathrooms constantly run out of toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. The school is always dirty and things are falling apart.

Highland was filled with incredible teachers who truly cared about my education. They made it clear that I could go to them for anything I needed, academically and personally.

Although we are somewhat new here, I have now had 1 child graduate from this school, and another child is currently in 10th grade. My children have had a successful transition from their old schools, and have quickly made new friends, feel a camaraderie with their teachers, and excel in their classe...

Highland is like a private school. There are no private high schools in town so if you want that feel...great academics, superior athletics, parent involvement. Guess what...its free!! Sure people may say that it is cliquey here. There may be some privileged kids...but there is also a VERY diverse p...

Highland is the stereotypical rich kid school where everything is bought instead of earned. Except for the straight A student part, they earned that poor rating all on their own merit.

Just don't like the feeling of the place. Bad teachers, student body, and facility. Try another high school.
