The Montessori Children’s House located in Providence cultivates a learning atmosphere where students in pre-K through 4th grade can become self-directed learners. Located on Lloyd Avenue, a quiet road on the East Side, students are encouraged to embrace their learning style at their own pace and free of stress.
The school encourages each student to learn through experience, often mixing students of varying age groups into one class to maximize learning opportunities. Montessori has a total of 66 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of 9 to 1, giving students a smaller classroom for a focused learning environment. Individualized attention is given to every student on a schedule that considers “sensitive periods,” or times when a child is most receptive to learning a new skill.
Art history and music are fundamental to the school’s teachings and contribute to every student viewing themselves as a global citizen. In October children, parents and teachers celebrate United Nations Day, in the spirit of unity which has been a tradition for 25 years. Montessori Children’s House holds open houses in the fall and winter during their admissions season.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the sound academic foundation that Montessori Children's House is providing to my daughter. The curriculum is self-motivated and purposeful and is supplying my child with the tools needed to be a lifelong learner.

This school wouldn’t let a child with severe motion sickness out of their contract, even when the doctor strongly recommended and contacted the school. Still have to pay the monthly fee, even though he was only able to attend 6 weeks.

Excellent! We have two children at MCH both with different learning needs and the teachers and staff have been incredible about making sure they each have what they need to succeeed
