Moses Brown School located at 250 Lloyd Avenue in Providence’s College Hill Neighborhood, is an independent, private school. Founded in 1784, by Moses Brown a Quaker and Abolitionist, the beautiful campus sits on thirty-two acres. Moses Brown School is one of the largest and oldest schools in the “Friends” network, in the country. The campus serves students from pre-kindergarten through secondary school. Class sizes are kept small so that students receive individual attention. There are many extracurricular activities available to students including performance groups, clubs, activities and athletic teams that compete in various sports. Many of the campus buildings have recently undergone renovation. The Woodman Family Community and Performance Center is the focal point of the campus. Created to encourage of sense of community and connection, the building houses the innovative “Y-Lab”, where students are encouraged to imagine and explore technology. The Gorgi Family Squash and Education Center hosts student squash games, and the newly redesigned lower school features state-of-the-art classrooms. You will find a real sense of community at Moses Brown. The school’s mission is simple: “To inspire the inner promise of each student and instill the utmost care for learning, people and place”

I came to MB for my freshman year of high school from public schools. It has completely changed my life and given me more opportunities than I ever could have imagined. I am now a Junior in college, and miss the MB community more than ever. Academically, I felt more prepared for college than I thought possible. I'm still in touch with a lot of my teachers and stay connected to MB in any way possible.
