GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Extensive middle school bullying was appalling, even shocking, and totally out of control. The school's new admin seemed utterly powerless to curtail it. School admin and school board going through period of tremendous turn over and change that has led to significant disharmony and acrimony that spilled out into the school community. On the plus side, the school has a superb choral music program led by a long term teacher (he is a difference maker!!) who is adored by the kids and parents. Music is a wonderful, connecting energy within the school community. Its middle school volleyball program is one of the best in the county, led by an outstanding, beloved coach who also teaches 4th grade. There are several long time, dedicated teachers who are outstanding. School facilities are probably #1 anywhere. Campus is gorgeous, exceptionally well maintained, and well secured. 1st class facilities. Annual Halloween carnival and father daughter dance are great.

All the reviews below are over 3 years old. The school has and continues to have massive turnover. Both the administration and most of the teachers are all rookies.

Great elementary school but middle school was just something else. There are some good teachers, but they get outweighed by the large number of really mean and unsupportive teachers and staff. When you hear about bullies, one might think student to student. I would actually say it’s more like staff...

Our son and daughter attended Roger Rowe K-8th. Their experience was outstanding from the facilities to teachers to community support. They continued on to Torrey Pines H.S. and were well prepared educationally and emotionally. Upon graduating one attended the #1 public university and the other the...

The school is run by below average administration and a revolving door of teachers and paraprofessionals. Most families have opted for private schooling after getting a feel for the chaotic and unorganized environment. Other public schools seem light years ahead in terms of curriculum content and so...
