Richardson West Junior High School Arts and Technology Magnet is a Richardson Independent School District public school. Seventh and eighth grade students must apply and have been accepted to the program to attend this school. The campus is located off Holley Drive in Richardson. The school curriculum has a strong focus on fine arts and technology. Students can study subjects like Culinary Arts and Hospitality or Theatre Arts through the art department. The school also has musical classes. Students can join the orchestra, band or choir. Students can also study subjects like Automotive or Computer Science through the technology department. All students take core classes in language arts, mathematics and science. The school’s curriculum for all classes is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards. I like how nice the teachers are and how kind the students are. The teachers help you when you are in need and they don't make you feel like you are dumb or don't know anything. They encourage everyone to be themselves and don't judge.

West is one of the few schools in RISD to earn distinctions in all of the 7 possible categories. Amazing, creative, technologically-advanced magnet school of distinction (7 out of 7 in fact). Students are cared for and supported and teachers are some of the best of the best. One of the best junior high schools in DFW!
