GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I moved to Richmond my freshman year, and it was a pretty daunting thing at first but the students that I met and became friends with here at Foster have been really nice and now going into my senior year I have many friends. I'm also apart of the school's band, which I have to say is a very amazing and talented group of individuals and I consider most of them as my family. I am also in my school's FFA chapter in which I showed pigs for about 2 years. Foster has mazing clubs and organizations here, and everyone is pretty much involved in at least one or two clubs and organizations. I had an overall good high school experience and I wouldn't want to change a thing.

The staff mostly feel like reinforcers of the law, like a second police. Though, it doesn't make me feel any less uncomfortable or unsafe. Teachers screaming in the halls or after school to get to class or out of the building, supposedly to minimize fights, do not make me feel safe. They make me feel anxious and uncomfortable.

The best part of my experience at this school is interacting with a wide variety of people from different cultures and learning a lot from them. The worst parts of my experience are from the fact that teachers are overly focused on grades rather than teaching us how to be constructive members of society

I have had students at Foster since 2009 and I absolutely love it. They hold the children to a high standard, yes their dress code is strict and adhered to, however well needed to ensure good order and discipline are followed. I love it and am very pleased with my children being at Foster.

Foster high school is the worst place you could send your kids to if you want them to succeed. Teachers care more about dress code violations and what's going on in their own lives than teaching students. There are some teachers who rock, but they put so much emphasis on grading hard and making sure...
