Gayton Elementary has roughly 500 students in attendance and a student-teacher ratio of about 16-to-1. Gayton Elementary was founded in 1988 to serve the growing residential community of the West End, a quiet suburb outside of Richmond. The school’s mission is to push every child to achieve academic, social and emotional success. It offers clubs such as the Safety Patrol and the Morning Announcements News Crew, along with after-school enrichment classes in areas of interest such as art, science, games and sports. Gayton Elementary even has a friendly alligator mascot named Gator, who appears at school functions to cheer students on.

I went there for 6 years, and every year was new there is always an update and new ways they appeal to all students they have all types of learning for visual, auditory and kinesthetic they also have a really good pre-k program.

They are going to get the job done by getting your child to learn and to read…it’s the culture that is the problem. There is no diversity. It’s a Vineyard Vines commercial and some of the parents are a nightmare (entitled). The teachers engage in way too much gossip and at times have been described...

Our daughter started kindergarten this year and we have really loved her learning. Her teachers are very dedicated to the children's learning, they use many learning methods that make learning fun. Always in contact with the parents, really very satisfied.

Absolutely disappointing, they will pass your child on to the next grade without ensuring that the child actually understands the material. Unfair grading rubric, and the teachers pick favorites. The children are not given the help they need and they are afraid to ask questions.

LOOK FOR ANOTHER SCHOOL. The staff is not capable of helping student succeed. They will start pointing fingers and causing more problems than coming up with a solution to help the student.
