GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall, John Randolph Tucker High School is a great school. It places a focus on student-led activities, which allows for a lot of amazing things like the fashion shows and culture fairs. The new phone policy isn't great and makes students feel more unsafe than ever, but that's not really the school's fault.

Although my freshman year was virtual, I still managed to make up for it in three years. I have wonderful friends and met amazing and helpful teachers. However, I have noticed an increase in fighting this year, and I hope that there are more preventable measures for this.

I absolutely love this school. The diversity in this school is unmatched and make me feel so comfortable. Also your principal is the best in Virginia no doubt about it. This school is amazing and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

I had fun here, bullying was practically non-existent since everyone kept within their crowd. My teachers made me feel appreciated even when I was struggling academically.

The learning and education is good and helped prepare me for high school, but the community is a toxic wasteland with borderline racists. Teachers tend to coddle white kids and ignore whatever things they do that could get other POC in trouble. They also showed more polite gestures towards other whi...

going here is truely a experience! When you go to tucker you’ll definitely find your group of people . There are a lot teachers that genuinely care for you. One of my personal favorites is Mrs.Jhonson , she’s a great science teacher.

Finding a teacher who genuinely cares about their job and the kids (and isn't burned out) is rare anymore. At least in the Henrico County school district. If there are any of these teachers at Tucker, I haven't come across one yet in the 3 years my child has been there. The amount of bullying, fight...
