The St. Vincent Ferrer School in River Forest serves prekindergarten through eighth graders with a private Catholic education on Lathrop Avenue. Promoting a curriculum that celebrates academic achievement and spiritual awareness, the Vincent Ferrer School enrolls around 250 students who traditionally graduate to attend college preparatory high schools.
At St. Vincent Ferrer School, students are stimulated, challenged and motivated to reach their full potential through prayer, study and service. St. Vincent Ferrer School's academic standards are culled from the Illinois State Board of Education and the Office for Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Chicago. The school's youngest students explore the world through sight, sound and touch while pursuing basic math and language learning.
Kindergartners have daily religious instruction. St. Vincent Ferrer's first through eighth graders begin a more complex journey, becoming adept at problem-solving and studying Catholic doctrine, with the opportunity to take Spanish, art, music and finance classes. The school provides iPads and Chromebooks to fourth and eighth-grade students to maximize learning capabilities. St. Vincent Ferrer also offers 38 athletic teams and clubs including basketball, soccer, student council, art club and more.

As a former student of St. Vincent Ferrer School, I was drawn to come back to the school to be the athletic director and 8th grade teacher. Over the years, the school has displayed growth both academically and athletically and makes me proud to say that I am a SVF Friar!
