River Grove School strives to grant students the tools and opportunities and reach their maximum potential inside and beyond the classroom. The public school serves students in prekindergarten through eighth grade. River Grove ensures it addresses the needs of all students and that the curriculum includes social and emotional learning components. The school’s technology department provides every prekindergarten to second grade student with an Apple iPad and every third to eighth grade student with a Chromebook to support learning. Students are encouraged to pursue interests beyond the classroom, such as participating in the school’s concert band and choir or developing journalism and writing skills by working on the student newspaper, The Royal Revolution. The school also offers several sports options to students, such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball and more. River Grove encourages students to be civically minded. It provides space to serve the community, such as fundraising for nonprofits that support veterans or participating in the Village of River Grove Youth Government program. The school tries to foster a positive and effective learning environment by using a special system to reward good behavior. These rewards include tickets to “shop” in the school store for small knick-knacks and treats or to win great prizes during school raffles and celebrations.

Very dedicated teachers, workload for students does seem fair. Never too much where a child is found frustrated or over worked.

There does not seem to be any issues with race or color in this school. Children all seem to beautifully see beyond race or color. I believe we as parents need to learn from our children when it comes to this.

My son has an IEP and he is thriving at River Grove School. Mr Wiley, our school principal, and all of the teachers truly care about the students. Teachers constantly communicate and collaborate with parents whenever there are issues. My son will be graduating this year and I am sad to say goodbye t...

I think the pre k and kindergarten special Ed suck. They are quick to judge and attack a parent. They place children in esl even though parents opt out of it. I think it's a racial problem.

The school is great with the students that needs major help to the academically gifted/honors. The teachers encourage the kids to want to learn, and try to make it fun to learn. If your child needs speech therapy this is the place to go, the school provides it to the students for free. The school al...
