GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall I enjoyed my time in high school. The assignments were all manageable but a few classes were trickier than others. The staff was always pretty good at helping me improve upon myself. The sports and clubs were fun activities to meet friends and reduce stress especially during my junior year. Towards my senior year there were more fights than I remember in my previous eleven years of school but other than that I do look back at high school with a positive attitude. I do whish I soaked it in a nit more when I was there though.

I enjoy seeing my friends at school everyday and creating fun memories. I think that the faculty is nice and caring. I wish we were allowed to use our phones however.

It's a pretty good school but the new phone policy is not nice and the staff are very restrictive and care more about phones being put away than the actual wellbeing of their students. Many administrative problems were also caused this year involving violation of student confidentiality . And also, the school no longer lets us partake in many events such as spirit weeks that the students choose, powderpuff and many other school events.

Athena has great programs for gifted students and high achievers. The district average scores however are brought down due to Greece being one of the largest districts in NYS. When you have a diverse population of poverty and affluence there is inevitably a different home life that can adversely imp...

The district is trying to save money, so they have closed most of the schools and put as many kids as they can in as few buildings as they can. As a consequence, this school, is a middle school and high school combined and has 2,000 students. Being in the hallways between classes is overwhelming, to...

School was great, i enjoyed my time here. Teachers all have a goal, and I didn't have one teacher that I felt was incompetent in their section. Sports were great! Now working on my Bachelors degree!
