GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

As a music student, I love our music rooms. The band room and chorus room are my favorite places in the entire school. They are also some of the only rooms I ever go in with air conditioning. I wish other rooms could have the ac as well because it tends to get so hot at the start and end of the school year. I wish more would be done to stop students from smoking and vaping in the bathrooms. It has caused stricter limitations on bathroom usage which tends to have unfortunate effects on other students who are not causing any problems.

The school overall is nice. I had a nice experience; however it was upsetting how the school got rid of a lot of classes, such as AP Chemistry. The teachers were a hit or a miss. The counselors were not so great because they didn't really help me. Clubs were boring. I really wish they get rid of the weed smell. Food at lunch was absolutely terrible. I don't get how they let that be consumed.

Gates Chili High school is a pretty good public school option. It would be better if they opened the bathrooms so students can use them instead of locking them. The food ok there are a lot of choices everyday. It can get annoying when students smoke in the bathroom (when they are open) and make the entire green hallway smell.

You pay for "great" schools. This is a good public school. It is diverse, socio-economically, ethnically, etc. It offers its students plenty of opportunity to excel in academics, sports and the arts. Every school has issues and this one is no exception, however, it is clear to me that my child is re...

It's an okay school, but it's a prison!!! For example, in the winter, if you arrive at school after 8:20, you must stand outside in the cold and sign in from a window! Also, everytime something "bad" happens they get much stricter, which does nothing but cause students to become more restless.

I love the school. There are fights, but they are mostly verbal. I think some drama is to be expected though, when you put 1000 teengers in a building together for 7 hours. We have a lot of great sports teams and a ton of extra curriculars. Students can choose to take a lot of different AP, dual cre...
